The Cats' House
At several feedings each day, our felines remind us that they're one meal
away from starvation. They do not realize how fortunate they are. Our cats think all cats get fed on demand and frolic on catwalks. By making public our private space, we hope others will be inspired to nourish and elevate their loved ones.
Living with a household full of felines has demonstrated what all cat lovers
know: cats will purr and play and carouse their way into all aspects of their feeders' lives. Whether we're working, eating, sleeping, or socializing—our cats
are into everything we do. In our thirty-three years of feline companionship
(we adopted a kitten on our marriage day), we have observed that cats have
a natural need to climb to the top of curtains, cupboards, and bookcases.
They love to look down on us.
Since 1987, we have been remodeling our 1950's Southern California tract
home to satisfy the needs of our cats. One hundred and forty feet of elevated walkway has been constructed to allow our felines to pass through walls and
play overhead. Home is litter-ally where our cats roam. They are everywhere: under-foot, over-foot; on counters, shelves, laps, and furnishings; even
in the air above.
Our fortunate felines have become upwardly mobile media stars; celebrity
hosts to an international assortment of film and print crews, and headliners
of their own award-winning books The Cats' House and Cats into Everything.
For our fur family, there's truly no place like home.
Enjoy and share your visit, so all cats
can someday look down on their people.
